The International Council of Shopping Centers reported weekly sales of major retailers fell 0.1% versus the prior week but rose 2.8% versus the comparable period last year; Redbook Research reported month to date retail chain store sales down 0.6% versus the similar timeframe last month but up 4.8% on a year over year basis.
Weekly mortgage applications rose 1.3% while purchase applications were up 1.1%.
