Bill Gross on Bernanke

The Federal Reserve has done a "masterful" job of keeping global markets relatively quiet, which for investors means stocks and bonds are unlikely to change much in the coming months, Bill Gross, Pimco’s co-chief investment officer, told CNBC Wednesday.

“What the Fed (learn more) has done, rather masterfully, in terms of asset markets, is to suppress volatility".

Wall Street Legend Weill Break Up the Big Banks

Former Citigroup Chairman & CEO Sanford Weill, the man who invented the financial supermarket, called for the break up of big banks in an interview on CNBC.

All American Investor
“What we should probably do is go and split up investment banking from banking, have banks be deposit takers, have banks make commercial loans and real estate loans, have banks do something that’s not going to risk the taxpayer dollars, that’s not too big to fail,” Weill told CNBC’s “Squawk Box.” “If they want to hedge what they’re doing with their investments, let them do it in a way that’s going to be market-to-market so they’re never going to be hit.”

Warren Buffett I'd Buy Up Single-Family Homes If I Could

Warren Buffett says along with equities, single-family homes are a very attractive investment right now.

Buffett says houses are even better than stocks. He advises buyers to take out a 30-year mortgage and refinance if rates go down.

Buffett revealed that he put 175 million euros into each of eight European stocks on behalf of Berkshire Hathaway at the end of 2011, but did not reveal the names of those stocks.

Buffett defends Berkshire's decision not to disclose the name of the person the board has chosen to be his successor as CEO, saying he has invested in many companies where he didn't know who would be the next person running the company.

Tip of the hat to GREG MANKIW'S BLOG.

This is a talk from a few days ago, as part of the "Occupy Harvard" movement. Steve says a lot of interesting things here, and I agree with more than many in the audience might suppose. A main disagreement I have with Steve is pedagogical. -- Greg Mankiw

Cramer: What to Watch Next Week + Video

The “Mad Money” host wants to hear one of three things Monday: that the French have put through a recapitalization plan that has a TARP-style bailout for their ailing banks, a commitment by German Chancellor Angela Merkel that specifically spells out how to save Greece, or a statement from European Central Bank President Jean Claude Trichet about cutting interest rates.

If we get all three, Cramer thinks stocks can soar higher. If we get one of the three, he thinks earnings reports will actually propel stocks higher.
